A jewellery shop owner here was relieved of gold ornaments and cash worth Rs10 lakh, police said today.

The incident occurred yesterday when thieves decamped with a bag containing gold ornaments and cash worth Rs10 lakh, when the owner of the shop here was busy opening its shutter, they said.

Police have registered a case and are investigating further.
